Laurie Carmichael worked for forty years as a nurse and retired the day before ‘COVID came to town’. Since her retirement she has written three adult thriller/suspense novels....‘A Complicated Goodbye’ and the sequels 'Hiding Amongst the Clouds' and 'The Final Lie' and has add a series of children' stories- The Longtail Brothers Misadventures to her bookshelf.
Laurie founded the Foothills Writers Group in Spring 2022. The group was established to support the talent, knowledge, experience, and resources, of local writers.The group meets every third Thursday of the month at the Public Library in Okotoks, Alberta. The group continues to flourish and hosts an annual writing contest for Grade Six students in public and separate schools locate in High River, Cayley, Diamond Valley and Okotoks..
Laurie lives in Okotoks, Alberta, Canada with her husband, Daryl and has three adult kids- Dana, Mitchell and Liam.
Laurie is the founder of the Foothills Writers Group- Okotoks and Surrounding area.
